Family Service is a behavioral health group practice that provides therapy services in the Long Beach area.
Our experienced and skilled therapists serve hundreds of individuals and families each year. We accept most private insurance and we offer affordable rates for private pay arrangements. Please review our service offerings below and contact us with your questions or to request an assessment.
Counseling has been the foundation of services at Family Service since its inception. In addition to individual, family, and group counseling offered at all Family Service locations, counseling is provided at schools in the Long Beach, Downey, Bellflower and ABC Unified School Districts.
Family Service has a variety of support groups offering a safe environment for people to share their experiences, learn from others, and develop better ways of coping with life’s challenges.
Family Service offers a comprehensive internship program to graduate and post-graduate students in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, and Social Work. These students develop skills in various therapeutic approaches including developmental, psychoanalytical, behavioral, client-centered and cognitive models.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps individual clients, from teen years and older to reduce suffering, increase skills that will replace ineffective coping behaviors, gain control of their reactions and “help the client move from a state of quiet desperation to one of full emotional experiencing.”
